The Haven Heartbeat

This month, we welcomed the birth of a precious baby boy, a powerful reminder of the life and hope at the center of our mission. Across the home, our moms are continuing to grow in confidence, stepping more fully into motherhood with each passing day.

We have also seen meaningful progress toward stability:

• One resident secured full-time employment, taking an important step toward independence
• Moms are continuing to bond deeply with their babies, growing in confidence and connection
• Residents are adjusting to new rhythms of parenting, including caring for multiple children

Behind the scenes, care continues consistently and faithfully:

• 201 nights of safe care provided this month
• 5 mothers served (including those in extended housing support)
• 3 babies supported within our care

What may seem like ordinary moments are, in reality, extraordinary steps forward.

Because of you, The Haven continues to be a place where safety, structure, and hope are not just offered—but experienced daily.

May is always a tender and meaningful month at The Haven. As we celebrate Mother’s Day and reflect on the beauty of motherhood, we are reminded that every mother’s journey begins with hope, courage, and the support of a caring community.

For many, Mother’s Day is filled with joyful traditions and cherished memories. But for the young women who come through our doors, motherhood often begins in uncertainty. Many arrive overwhelmed, afraid, and unsure if they can carry the weight of what lies ahead. Yet day after day, we witness something extraordinary: strength emerging where fear once lived, confidence replacing doubt, and love growing stronger with every passing moment.

Behind each story at The Haven is a young mama learning that she is capable, resilient, and deeply valued. We see courage in the quiet moments; mothers comforting their babies in the middle of the night, residents encouraging one another through difficult days, and young women continuing to move forward even when the future still feels uncertain.

This season has also reminded us that motherhood is not defined by perfection. It is shaped by sacrifice, resilience, and unconditional love. At The Haven, we are honored to walk alongside these courageous young women as they discover that they are seen, heard, and valued, not only by us, but by God.
