Our Story

The Haven at Hebron is a home for single, pregnant women 21 and under who need residential care throughout pregnancy, birth and beyond.

Our story started with a desire to provide a safe home, love, and a family atmosphere to girls experiencing an unplanned pregnancy. With that desire in mind, a team assembled and began researching current options for some of our most vulnerable population – single, young (21 and under) women who are pregnant and homeless and may be considering abortion.

As research confirmed, there is a definite need for housing for pregnant young women experiencing homelessness. Currently, there is not a maternity home located in Gwinnett county, the third largest county in Georgia and only a few in the entire state. Local pregnancy resource centers and other organizations have limited resources for young pregnant women who need housing. While this is a niche need, it is a big need and also fits within Gwinnett’s focus on solving homelessness in general.

The Haven is being built on land donated by Hebron Church and will be a home with room to house eight pregnant women throughout their pregnancy and up to eight weeks postpartum. The home will also house a married house couple and provide office space for the organization. The Haven will offer healthcare, counseling, life skills/job skills and more – all with a faith-based focus.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Jeremiah 29:11
