Dear Haven Family,
Welcome to 2026! As we step into a brand-new year, I find myself filled with gratitude — for God’s faithfulness, for His provision, and for each of you who have walked alongside The Haven with such generosity and love.
January also brings a season of transition for me. As many of you know, my family has moved to Southwest Florida, and because of that, I have stepped down from my role as Director of Donor Development. While this chapter is changing, my heart for The Haven never will. I am honored to continue supporting this mission as a member of the Board of Directors through the end of 2026, and I will always be one of The Haven’s biggest cheerleaders.

I am thrilled to introduce our new Director of Donor Development, Robert Early. Robert joins The Haven with a strong background in nonprofit fundraising and meaningful donor engagement. Even more importantly, he is a believer and devoted follower of Christ. As a husband and father to two daughters, Robert brings a deep, personal heart for serving young women, and I am confident God has uniquely prepared him for this role. I couldn’t be more excited for you to get to know him.
Looking back over the years I’ve served in this position, I can honestly say God has shown Himself faithful time and time again. I have witnessed the hearts of generous givers — each of you responding in obedience and love. I’ve learned that heartfelt gifts truly come in all shapes, sizes, and amounts.
There have been moments when The Haven received large, joyful gifts that arrived right on time for a very specific need — just as Scripture reminds us in 2 Corinthians 9:7, that God loves a cheerful giver. And yet, there is something incredibly humbling about the sacrificial gifts — the ones given with deep trust and quiet faith. I often think of the widow who gave all she had (Mark 12:42–44). God has continually shown me that “little is much” when He is in it.
I have been personally blessed by every single one of you who has given to The Haven. I remain in awe of your generous, obedient spirit. Through you, I have learned so much about generosity, faithfulness, and the goodness of God’s people — and for that, I am deeply grateful.
What a joy it has been to come alongside our young moms, our staff, and each of you during these years as Director of Donor Development. You have left an eternal imprint on my heart.
“I thank God every time I remember you. And I always pray for all of you with joy… that your love will grow more and more; that you will have knowledge and understanding with your love… that your life will be full of the many good works that are produced by Jesus Christ to bring glory and praise to God.”
Philippians 1:3–11
Thank you for allowing me to be part of this incredible journey. I look forward to watching God continue His good work through The Haven in 2026 and beyond.
With a grateful heart,
Danette Fleming
